working tests in June 2025. Their accomplishments showcase not only their
innate talent but also the dedication of their handlers.
Northglen Lester's Triumph at Wharncliffe Chase
Northglen Lester Hunt, affectionately known as 'Lester', demonstrated outstanding prowess at the United Retriever
Club North Midlands Open Working Test held at Wharncliffe Chase. Competing
against a strong field of seasoned retrievers, Lester exhibited exceptional precision,
responsiveness and determination, earning the title of the event's winner.
This achievement highlights Lester’s remarkable abilities as a UK Field Trial
Winner (FTW) and cements their reputation as one of the finest Working Chocolate
Labradors in Europe.
The Wharncliffe Chase test, renowned for its challenging
terrain and rigorous standards, provided the perfect backdrop for Lester's
skills to shine. The combination of trust between dog and handler and Lester’s
sharp instincts proved to be the key factors behind this victory.
Northglen Breeze Makes Waves at Ray Estate
Following in her brother's triumphant footsteps, Northglen
Breeze (Arya), a Chocolate Labrador bitch three years younger than Lester,
claimed her own celebrated victory. Arya aptly named after Arya Stark (actress Masie
Williams) showing courage, determination, resilience and loyalty emerged as the
winner of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria Novice Working Test at Ray
Estate. Competing in the novice category, Arya displayed phenomenal promise,
precise retrieves, and an undeniable connection with her handler.
The Ray Estate Novice Working Test by kind permission of Lord
Davenport & Mr Steve McDermott is known for nurturing emerging talent, and Arya’s
performance captivated judges and competitors alike. Her success not only
underscores her potential but also speaks to the impressive lineage of
