Show Breed English Springer Spaniel Gundog Training

Congratulations to Mrs J Warner and English Springer Spaniel Polly, who retrieved a dead pigeon for the first time, this may not seem a great achievement for the normal gundog handler who's dog carries working bloodlines.

Polly is a full pedigree show spaniel who initially would not hunt or retrieve. Its been a long road over 12 months, but well worth it in the end.

Our Midlands Gundog Trainer Stewart North would like to thank Mr. & Mrs S Warner, Cadeby Hall, Warwickshire for their patience and trust in our gundog training skills.

Welcome New Client James Roote & GSP Arthur

James & Arthur recently joined our Grade 1 Group Training program and have made such progress that Grade 2 Stop Whistle Work on recall, has started.

Its Just a Gundog

"Its Just a Gundog"

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a gundog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a gundog."

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a gundog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a gundog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a gundog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a gundog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a gundog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a gundog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a gundog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a gundog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.

Because of "just a gundog", I will rise early, have long training sessions and look longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a gundog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a gundog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a gundog", but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man or woman."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a gundog"
just smile... because they "just don't understand."
